Note n°21, November 2008, "Contribution of the Provinces to Canadian Scientific Publications"

With 36,249 publications in 2006, Canada maintained its 8th place in the world for scientific publications in natural sciences, engineering and health sciences (NSE). The provinces of Ontario and Québec contribute to almost three-quarters of Canadian publications and there was a significant increase in the western provinces scientific production. This note examines the provinces’ scientific production by institutional sectors and by NSE’s disciplinary fields.
